An Award and 7 Things About Me

I have to say, I missed receiving tags. Luckily, somebody remembered to tag me today and because I missed the fun of tagging others and giving some link love, I am playing along and responding right now.

But before I forget, let me thank Jona of Heartifying for sending this tag my way and for the Stylish Blogger Award. I don't know why she thought me deserving of this award, but the thought alone is very much appreciated.

Like any other tag and award, there are rules so that it will be passed on to others and will in turn, create link love. It's simple though:

1. Link back and thank the person who gave you this award. (check!)

2. Then share 7 things about yourself.

1. I am obsessive-compulsive.
2. I am easily distracted by the Internet.
3. I love to cook but I am sometimes too lazy to cook.
4. I usually like to keep to myself.
5. I love coffee. I always drink at least one cup.
6. I truly adore my little girl although I am trying my best not to give in to what she wants.
7. I always find it hard to say NO, especially to my loved ones.

3. Award 15 great bloggers that you know.

Since I haven't been very active in the blogging world lately, I might not reach the required 15.

First, I would like to tag the Couchers who have been with me every Tuesday for my movie meme, Tuesday Couch Potatoes:

Shydub of Worth's World
Bonz of Pink Clash

And to old friends reconnected and new friends met along the way:
Phoebe of Pinay Mama
Alice Law of My Little Sprouts

I Belong...

Marce Pehpot's invitation that I be one of Sati's godmothers opened up lots of opportunities for me to network with other wonderful and fabulous Mommy bloggers. It also made me feel like I have a home in the blogniverse that I can truly say "I BELONG HERE"... thanks to this sisterhood that is popularly known as the MARCE CLUB. It is no surprise then that I get so many link love and visits, well wishes and encouraging words from them, be it publicly or privately.

Another perk of being part of the MARCE CLUB? You get wonderful awards such as this:

Thanks Marce Seiko for this beautiful award. The gift of the Marce Club's spirit of sisterhood is more than enough for me to survive the blogniverse. I am just so blessed to have you known you guys, albeit virtually.

To all my other Marces, this one goes to you guys!

It Ain't Over Till I Say It's Over

Yup, you heard me right!

And I meant Kaye and Pehpot's Blogversary Contest.

Although it has officially ended, I still just can't get over the fact that it has come to end... like most beautiful things should. The beauty of it though is that the friendship that was formed while the contest was ongoing has gone stronger. And the writing skills and the spamming, err... commenting skills were honed even more. That is the great impact that this contest has I guess... And for that I am thankful!

Of course, a contest would not be complete without the winners. And I must say, CONGRATS to all the winners, especially me! LOL!

I did win! Want to know what I won? Here they are:

5th Grand Prize: $20.00 Paypal cash
Best Review for Make or Break blog: 1 month advertising on Adgitize
(I just received my Adgitize Gift Card and I will use it to advertise next month! That means, I get to save on my Paypal Funds! Hurrah!)
Yummiest Review for Dishes by Pehpot: $5.00 Paypal cash
2nd 10 to complete requirements: Three Month Sidebar Text Link at Make or Break and Random WAHM Thoughts.

So now that I have published my winnings, I can finally say, "It's OVER!"

Again, CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS!

Share A Virtual Hershey's Basket & Help Children

Now here's a nice tag that's for a worthy cause. And it's very timely too, what with Easter only a few days away. Thanks Hazel of Delineating Des for tagging. Thanks to Marce Chris of Chris Chronicles too. The basket full of Easter goodies is just perfect!

The Hershey's Better Basket Blog Hop

Here's what to do:

* Copy and paste these rules to your blog post.
* Create a blog post giving a virtual Easter Basket to another blogger – you can give as many Virtual Baskets as you want.
* Link back to person who gave you an Easter Basket.
* Let each person you are giving a Virtual Easter Basket know you have given them a Basket.
* Leave your link at BetterBasket.info/BlogHop comment section. You can also find the official rules of this Better Basket Blog Hop, and more information about Better Basket with Hershey’s there.

And just so you'll know, passing this virtual basket along has lots of benefits. Aside from the Easter cheer that it brings, you get to help too! How?

* Hershey’s is donating $10 per each blog participating to the Better Basket Blog Hop to Children’s Miracle Network (up to total of $5,000 by blog posts written by April 4th, 2010).

So pass this one on, pretty please? I am tagging all my beautiful marces from the Marce Club namely Chris Fedhz Gene Jade Kaye Liz Mye Niko Pehpot Seiko Yami.

Somebody Thinks Me Beautiful!

Oh yes, somebody does! And I love her (not him!) for thinking it. Hihi! Kidding aside, I am touched that Bambie of My Thoughts, My Heart, My Turf remembered me when she sent this award out. And oh, she is hosting her very own contest soon so watch for it! Sponsorship pledges are still all welcome so visit her today to find out how. ☺

Now for the AWARD:

Here are the rules that I must follow:

1. Thank & link the person that gave you the award.
Again, thanks Bambie! You are such a sweet person!

2. Pass this award onto 15 bloggers you’ve recently discovered and think are fantastic.
I'm gonna break the rule this time as some of the blogs I've chosen I've discovered way back!
Oh, there's lots of fantastic bloggers out there! Here's my fifteen:

3. Contact said Blogs and let them know they’ve won.

4. State 7 things about yourself
- I am currently on a blog review craze.
- My little one is turning 2 pretty soon and I'm so excited!
- I don't know what's the latest in the music industry.
- General house cleaning is a task I enjoy.
- I don't like to procrastinate but I keep procrastinating.
- I am such a very forgetful person. I forgot my cellphone yesterday and Hubby could not contact me. Oh no!
- I wish that I were slimmer, taller, and with fairer skin. But then again, that would not be me!

A Review Race?

I have an ultimate goal to win a blog contest that offers $200 cash for the first prize. And to be able to do this, I have to diligently write reviews of all the blog sponsors, from the major ones down to Level 3. I am not half-way through yet with the Level 3 sponsors and I still have a long way to go. It's a tough competition and I know that other bloggers are eyeing the top prize too. So I know I shouldn't procrastinate. But I have other obligations and responsibilities more important than winning the contest such as taking care of my little one and making sure that there's a warm meal on the table when Hubby arrives from work. There's also my online responsibilities... I can't just let my "clients" down. So wherever this contest may take me, I know that I won't regret my joining because I did all the best I could and I learned a lot on making reviews. I guess you can say, charge it to experience.

But anyway, if you still haven't joined the contest, here is your chance! Kaye and Pehpot have made it easier for you to join by just making a blog post about the Contest and include the major sponsors' links like the one below:

Below are the four MAJOR sponsors of Kaye and Pehpot's Blogversary contest:

I Am Buraot
A blog about politics, the environment, religion, philanthropy, and everything else that is life. Author is known for his generosity in sponsoring contests. The home of the famous EntreDropper.

Anak Ni Kulapo
Yet another blog of Buraot. If you want to die laughing, then go visit Anak Ni Kulapo. His life in the US and hilarious stuff about his home country are only two of the must-sees in this blog.

Seiko's Diary
The blog title says it all. This is Seiko's journal about being a mom to her five gorgeous kiddos, her take on life in general, and random musings of a woman who loves life.

Mom Conversations
A new blog about everything concerning mothers: pregnancy, health and fitness and babies are the current categories, under which are detailed articles containing tips and valuable information for moms everywhere.

Please drop by these blogs if you have the time and see why they are worthy of a special mention. :)

Yes, there's no more need to write a review for you to be qualified. Easy peasy, noh? You also have the option though to review all four major sponsors to gain you 400 points more.

Here's what's up for grabs:

1st Prize $200
2nd Prize: $100
3rd Prize: $50
4th Prize: 30
5th Prize: 20

5 Lucky Winners of $20 each

BEST POST ABOUT THE CONTEST
WINS 2 MOS. OF ADVERTISING IN ADGITIZE

Best review of
Random WAHM Thoughts
WINS 1 MONTH OF ADVERTISING IN ADGITIZE

Best review of Make or Break
WINS 1 MONTH OF ADVERTISING IN ADGITIZE

Aren't the prizes great? So why don't you join NOW? Now is your chance to bring home the bacon. You might even be able to buy that DVD player or that camcorder that you have been drooling on.

And oh, if you learned about the contest through ME, please be kind to state in your blog post that KIKAMZ referred you. Pretty please? Thanks!

Happy Valentine's Day To Everyone!

The clock just struck 12:00MN on this side of the planet and I would like great everyone a very HAPPY VALENTINE's DAY. May this day be a special and happy one spent with family and loved ones.

I also want to share this Valentine's Tag given to me by dear Nuts of More Than Just A SAHM. Thanks dear for sharing it with me. Warm hugs for you!

Here are some simple mechanics:
1. Post this tag in your blog (multiple blogs allowed) with these mechanics.
2. Don’t forget to use the widget above linking to the site: http://sunshineleneforlife.com/.
3. Post a photo of anything that has the color red.
4. Include also a saying or quote related to LOVE or the LOVE MONTH.
5. Tag as many as you can and instruct them to get back to Arlene's site to leave their url if they have joined.

Here's a photo of The Sto. Nino or The Holy Infant Jesus. I am sharing this one because we will be celebrating the Sinulog come February 20th. Sinulog in February? Kind of odd, but why not! If you happen to be near the Stuttgart-Rottenburg area, you are invited to join in the festivities. Pit Senyor!

I would like to share this very beautiful poem about love from my favorite, Fr. Pedro Arrupe, SJ:

Nothing is more practical than finding God, that is,
than falling in love in a quite absolute, final way.
What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination,
will affect everything.

It will decide what will get you out of bed in the morning,
what you will do with your evenings,
how you will spend your weekends

what you read, who you know, what breaks your heart,
and what amazes you with joy and gratitude.
Fall in love, stay in love, and it will decide everything.

Enjoy the weekend!

Let me share this poem from one of my favorite Jesuit priests, Fr. Pedro Arrupe SJ about LOVE and God. The words are just so profound that I wish that I have this kind of disposition each and every single day.

“Nothing is more practical than finding God, that is, than falling in a love in a quite absolute, final way. What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the mornings, what you will do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, who you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude. If I Were Pehpot

We all live in different time zones. And although it is still January 31st here, I know that in some parts of the world, particularly in the Philippines, by the time this post is published, it is already February 1st. And at this time, someone so dear in the blogniverse is celebrating her birthday. She is no other than Marce Pehpot.

If I were Pehpot, here are some of the things that I'd do...

ON being a parent, wife, homemaker:
How will you raise your kids?
I would raise them with all the love and care that they deserve. And because every child is unique, I would pay attention to their individual needs.

What would you say to Cata?
Who is cata? Is Cata the name of Peh's hubby? I still haven't met him but if I do, I will definitely say, "Kumusta na?" Hehe...

What would you say to people who have something not-so-nice to say about your kids?
First, I'd ask what happened that made them say such kind of thing. Then I will continue from there...

On being OC and “aholic”:
How would you arrange your cabinet?
Do you mean the closet? I would segregate the colors of the shirts first. After that, I would further arrange the shirts with like colors according to the length of the sleeves and whether it is collarless or not. Then I would hang them accordingly in the order of the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, indigo, blue, violet; and then the neutral colors: white, gray, brown, black. That is OC-ness kicking in!

What would messy mean to you?
Messy would be shoes not lined up orderly on the shoerack, books not belonging in the correct category, samantha's toys and books scattered about.

Would you add another blog to your 8 blogs??
I don't have 8 blogs. I have only three and I barely manage to maintain all three let alone 8! So that would have to be a "NO".

ON being sexy:
What color of underwear would you wear on Valentine's Day?
Haha! I still haven't thought of that...

What would you wear on JJ night?
Ummm... NOTHING? Hihi!

On your “selfish”day:
What would you do with five million pesos?
I'd buy us our dream house, shop for luxury items that I can only dream of having and then save the rest in an education fund for our children.

What is one thing that you wish to have?
Right now, that would be another baby girl or boy. Samantha badly needs a playmate.

Oh well, I know my answers are quite different from what the real Pehpot would answer. So here's just wishing you, Marce Pehpot, a very Happy Birthday! May God bless you always with good health, inspiration, happiness and passion to do all the things that you want to do. I count myself blessed that you chose me to be a godmother to Sati and for that I am thankful. Thank you for the friendship too! Alles gute zum Geburtstag!

If you still haven't wished my kumare a Happy Birthday, be sure to visit her blogs and leave a message or two:

Five Bloggers You'll Meet in Heaven

I would like to start the week right by posting this award I received from Chris of The Mommy Journey. This is a very nice award Chris and I am much honored to be given such. Thank you.

If you are familiar with the works of Mitch Albom, author of Tuesdays with Morrie, then the words "Five Bloggers You Meet in Heaven" will be ring a bell.

There are no random acts... We are all connected... You can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind...
---(The Five People You Meet In Heaven)

Now, selecting the five bloggers will be a hard task considering I love reading more than five blogs. So here's my five picks, blogs whose authors are wonderful people and who I may, or may not meet in my lifetime. :D

The rules are easy for passing on this award:

1) Attach the award to your blog post
2) Copy and paste the famous quote from The Five People You Meet In Heaven somewhere in the post
3) Please identify the creator of the award (Andrea from Memories As A Mom), and link to the person who sent it to you.
4) Send this to five of your blogger friends to show your appreciation!

Amazing Grace

Grace of Amazing Grace requested me to make a button for her site. I am glad to make it for her but I am not too confident whether she would like it or not. I am new to this kind of thing and I am doing it just for fun. Maybe later when I am really good, I will turn it into a money-making endeavor? Hehe! But kidding-aside, here it is:

So to Grace, please give me your email address so that I will be able to give you the code that you can post to your sidebar so that you can display your new button to your sidebar.

Happy Birthday NIKO!

My dearest blogger friend Anik (a.k.a. Niko or Niko Ganda to all others) celebrated her 28th birthday yesterday. I hope she had a happy and memorable one, spent with her little mushroom family. Anik is one of the first people who i met in the blogging world and came into close contact with. My first impression: sweet, thoughtful and passionate about Yena, Yobib and her blogging career. I am glad we befriended each other and I count myself lucky to have known her through blogging. She is one power girl, who believes that Girls Rule! And you will find her updated with the online trends too.

So to you Anik, wishes of happiness, good health and peace of mind. God bless you always!

My Movies -To-Watch List #1

Every Tuesday is Tuesday Couch Potatoes Day here on my blog. It is my idea of getting to know my fellow bloggers better by learning what kind of movies they watch. It is also my way of judging whether a movie is worth watching through their unbiased reviews. And so I have decided to make this Movies-To-Watch list where all the movies featured in TCP entries that I haven't watch yet go. This will be a series of posts and I will also be giving some link love too so if you haven't joined us yet, come join us NOW!

1. We Were Soldiers from Ate Rose of Rose's Obstacles and Glories
2. Fire Proof from Phebie of Love's Haven
3. Iris from Hazel of Delineating Des
4. The Story of Us from Ate Chris of Inspirational Insights
5. Taken from Genejosh of Her and History
6. Shooter from Lulu of Bitz 'N Pieces of My Life
7. Wall-E from Niko of Lover Mushroom
8. Meet The Robinsons from Pehpot of Make or Break
9. Wrestling Ernest Hemingway from Hazel of Delineating Des
10. The Proposal from Niko of Lover Mushroom

P.S. To my dear couchers: The movies featured are those that I haven't seen yet. I can only feature ten each week so if the movie you posted isn't featured yet, it could be that I have already seen it or I have yet to post them. Hugs to all and THANK YOU for being a Coucher!

It's Raining AWARDS!

It comes with the usual rules:
1. Pass it on to at least one other blog but the more the better.
2. Never ever tell anybody who gave it to you. (Link backs not allowed)
3. Make a nice acceptance speech.

My acceptance speech:
"I really do not think that my blog is a prestigious one but thanks for the honor. I gladly accept this award, thankful that someone has recognized the hardwork and love that I put into it. Should I cry now? Sniff! Sniff! Really, I am honored. Thank you! Thank you!"

-----------------------------------

Sincerest Thank you's to Ate Chris of The Mommy Journey for showering me these awards! The cold, rainy days are here again and I miss the sunny weather. But this shower of awards surely made things look brighter and warmer.

"You can see this box of chocolates is filled with different and unique candies and just like the chocolates we are all different and unique people. We are the same in that we all have common ingredients that make us more alike than not. Except for the frosting, which represents our personalities, we are indeed very similar on the inside.”

And of course there are rules:
1. That you must pass this award to others.
2. Link back to me when you have passed them forward.
3. Write a nice post about this award.
4. You must read this award with a southern accent. I call it southern day where we all have to speak with a southern accent. I know that will be hard for some of you, but for the rest of us, we will be fine. So now, ya’ll just enjoy this little ol’ award and have fun with it.
5. And of course let your folks know that they have a nice award waiting for them.

For those receiving this award it is bestowed on to blogs that are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to six bloggers who must choose six more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

Now I would like to pass the Just Another Prestigious Internet Award, Honesty Award, Blogger Buddie Award, Box of Chocolates, and Circle of Friends Award to:

Kaye of WAHMaholic
Ate Beth of All About Elizabeth
Niko of Niko's Blog
Shydub of Worth's Road
Ate Rose of Rose's Obstacles and Glories
Mommy Seiko of Seiko's Diary
