I have to say, I missed receiving tags. Luckily, somebody remembered to tag me today and because I missed the fun of tagging others and giving some link love, I am playing along and responding right now.

But before I forget, let me thank Jona of Heartifying for sending this tag my way and for the Stylish Blogger Award. I don't know why she thought me deserving of this award, but the thought alone is very much appreciated.

Like any other tag and award, there are rules so that it will be passed on to others and will in turn, create link love. It's simple though:

Everyday Is EARTH DAY!

Oh yes, everyday for me is Earth Day! I have posted this tag once before here but thought that it would be wise to re-share some of my ideas and my practices in saving our planet. Thanks to Mommy Jac of Mom’s Special Diary for inviting me to post about Earth Day again.

Here's my share of GREEN ideas:

1. Ecobags. When you shop, be sure to bring your own bag with you. I always bring mine each time I do my groceries. If you don't have an ecobag, reuse the old ones that you had.

2. Natural cleaning agents. If you want an odor-free room, use powdered charcoal (activated carbon) or baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) instead of an air freshener. How? Put a few spoonfuls in a shallow container and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil for the added scent. Powdered coal and sodium bicarbonate are powerful deodorizers. Also, if you want to clean glass-tops and glass windows, use diluted vinegar instead of a glass cleaner. Wipe with a newspaper when done for that complete clean and polished look. There are lots of cleaning agents out there in the market. Be wise when you shop. Look for the BIO seal.

3. 3R's. I know this is old school but remember the 3R's? Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. That's the way to go. Segregate your wastes properly. Recycle what you can and reuse old stuff. If you are creative enough, you can create lots of wonderful stuff from your seemingly "junk" stuff.

4. Biodegradable. Check the labels of your shampoos, soaps and detergents. Are they biodegradable? If not, switch to biodegradables the next time you hit the supermarket.

5. Volunteer. You don't have to be a member of a civic-oriented organization to help save the environment. You can still join in by volunteering yourself in various efforts: coastal clean-ups, tree planting, mountain clean-ups. You can involve the entire family so that they too will have the awareness.

6. Clean as you go. Remember that we are all responsible for our wastes. Each time you go outing, bring along with you a trash bag. You never know when these can become handy. And garbage bins may not be available in the area too. Do not leave your trash behind nor leave the cleaning to the caretakers. We arrived at the place clean so we should also leave it clean.

Happy Valentine's Day To Everyone!

The clock just struck 12:00MN on this side of the planet and I would like great everyone a very HAPPY VALENTINE's DAY. May this day be a special and happy one spent with family and loved ones.

I have been waiting for a long time for somebody to tag me with this one! So glad that Anik of Lover Mushroom remembered me. Hehehe! I just love doing tags like this because they are fun and it reminds me of how hubby and I came to be. Thanks girl!

What are your middle names?
~Mine is R while his is B.

How long have you been together?
~10 years as lovers and 2 years, 9 months as a married couple.

How long did you know each other before you started dating?
~A few months.

Who asked whom out?
~I forgot. It just sort of happened.

How old are each of you?
~I am 29days older than him.

Whose siblings do you see the most?
~As of the moment none. My siblings are in the Philippines, his brother is in England and we are in Germany.

Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple?
~Making ends meet. :D

Did you go to the same school?
~When we were in college, yes.

Are you from the same home town?
~Yeah.

Who is smarter?
~He is smarter when it comes to analysis and logic and electronics. I am smarter when it comes to writing, remembering numbers and lyrics, and anything artsy. :D

~ME.

Where do you eat out most as a couple?
~At Malativas, a barbeque joint near the university.

Who has the crazier exes?
~We didn't have exes. We are each other's "one and only".

~I have a temper. But I don't explode. I just keep to myself. And this in turn makes him angry.

~I always do the cooking now that we are together. But when I am not feeling well, he cooks. And when I was still in the Philippines, he cooks. He has no choice, or else he'll starve! :D

~I am the OC-OC in the house!

~Both of us.

Who hogs the bed?
~Not us but Samantha! She would turn 90° while she sleeps so that hubby and I are pushed to the edge of the bed.

~I do on weekdays. He does on weekends.

~We are both jealous lovers ;) LOL

~just months

~He does.

Who does the laundry?
~I do. I mean, the washing machine does. I just do the hanging and folding and ironing. :p

~He is. I turn to him whenever I experience technical difficulties with my desktop. ;)

~He always does. I don't know how to drive. :D LOL

Knowing Me, Knowing You...

Friends are hard to come by especially when you are living abroad. And I find solace and comfort with the knowledge that I can meet good friends in the blogosphere. And I am grateful for that. I may have been remiss on visiting their blogs, but I know that they understand. And when I do visit them, I am always in for a surprise because I learn something new and get inspired with their life experiences. And for that, I am thankful.

This post is for my friends here in the blogosphere. I haven't shared about myself lately and here's something that will give an insight as to what I am like. Thanks to Mommy Seiko for this wonderful surprise of a tag: Getting To Know You.

1. What time did you get up this morning? I think it was 5:26AM. Sam's cry for milk woke me up, as usual.
2. How do you like your steak? Well-done.
3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema? I think it was Transformers 1. And that was like 2 years ago! Would you believe it?
4. What is your favorite TV show? I'd have to say Gilmore Girls and Zu Hause im Gluck.
5. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? I'd live anywhere for as long as it's with my family!
6. What did you have for breakfast? Leftover bihon and rice from last night. I am too lazy to cook!
7. What is your favorite cuisine? I have always loved Chinese, Thai and Italian cuisines.
8. What foods do you dislike? I would never dare eat nato.
9. Favorite place to eat? Right here at home or by the beach.
10. Favorite dressing? French or Asian vinegraite.

How Old Is Old?

I guess for me, OLD is when you stop to explore new things and stop to appreciate life. Old is when you start to think you are already tired when you have just started doing something. Old is when you miss out on a lot of opportunities simply because you let them slip. Old is when you stop taking care of yourself, and I mean physically! Old is when you cease to exist because you never have a social life! And writing about this makes me feel OLD! LOL!

What's on 161?

I love to read books. It relaxes, inspires and enlightens me. The most recent one I read was Brida by Paulo Coelho. It is about a woman's search for her soulmate and destiny. And it was quite an extraordinary story. And another masterpiece by Paulo Coelho, if i might add.

The 5th sentence states:
"All that remained was that primitive moment among the pure forces of nature, the sense of being alive and in the company of someone she loved."

Her search for her Soulmate entailed a lot of risk-taking. She struggled within herself and as she sought her destiny, she had to find balance between her relationships and her desire to transform herself. She triumphed in the end, though it meant giving up one of her Soulmates.
