Reality Bites

I always get excited when the Christmas season comes. It is because I get to celebrate the birth of Christ with my family and loved ones. I look forward to the Simbang Gabi, the Noche Buena feast, the family reunions, the act of gift-giving and exchanging gifts, and the merrymaking and cheery atmosphere that the spirit of Christmas brings. Despite all the problems, financial or otherwise, we still find the reason for the celebration: Christ.

However, this is not always the case for everybody. Especially for those who have loans to pay. December is the end of the year and most loan companies especially those "loan sharks" would push the people who owe them money to the edge and make them pay their balances at this time of the year, by hook or by crook. If only they could get loan mod leads, then it will be a not-so-horrible Christmas for them. It is sad to note that there are people who cannot truly enjoy the Christmas season because they worry about money. I wish that their circumstances would be different this year.
