I am in the mood for blogging and I can say it has been a while since I had that kind of feeling. So I am trying to make up of lost time and participating for GT again. And this week's talk is about "the celebrity that we adore".
There is no doubt about it, I am big fan of Southern belle Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon, most popularly known in Hollywood as Reese Witherspoon. I love all of her movies and how she chooses her roles very well. She was the perfect fashionista in Legally Blonde as Elle Woods, I adored her as Melanie Carmichael in Sweet Home Alabama and as Dr. Elizabeth Masterson in Just Like Heaven. I am so looking forward to watching her latest movie which she co-stars with hottie Robert Pattinson (more popularly known as Edward of the film series Twilight), Water for Elephants.
There is just a smoothness and finesse in the way Reese plays her role and one can't help but praise her for it. Watching her on E! one time allowed me to get a closer look at her life. It was just too bad that her seven-year marriage to Ryan Philippe ended but I love her two adorable daughters. She is proud of her southern upbringing, which she said gave her "a sense of family and tradition" and taught her about "being conscientious about people's feelings, being polite, being responsible and never taking for granted what you have in your life."
And like some other Hollywood celebrities, she is also into charitable works and is actively involved in children's and women's advocacy organizations. She has long supported the Save The Children foundation and also serves in the board of the Children's Defense Foundation. She also is an honorary chair of Avon Foundation, a charitable organization that supports women and focuses on breast cancer research and the prevention of domestic violence. Ain't it good to know that people like her care a lot for children and women?
That's what I call keeping your feet on the ground.
