Remembering Lolo Julian

It was early this year when I learned about the demise of another grandfather. He died of old age and I was so sad when I heard about it because I lived abroad. It was frustrating knowing that I can't be there to see him for the last time. All we could do was light a candle for him, hold a vigil and availed the services of a local funeral flower delivery for some fresh funeral flowers to be sent to the chapel where his remains lie in state.

I can only remember good things about my grandfather. He was a good lawyer, was fair and just and very thoughtful to his grandchildren. He would always stress out the importance of education, that we should study hard so that we will have a good future. Whenever I need some documents to be notarized, I would always run to his law office and ask for his help and he would gladly seal it. Come to think of it, I really wasn't able to give him anything as a THANK YOU gift. If only I could turn back time, I would have given him something that he would remember me by: a fountain pen perhaps and not just the flowers that I have personally chosen to be sent along at his final resting place.
