The Runaway Jury

It has been a while since I read a book because I just couldn't find enough time to read a book that I really like in just one sitting. I must admit I miss those days when I can just get hold of the latest bestseller from my favorite author and finish it in just one day. Now, I just don't have that luxury of time and only get to do some serious paperback reading when I am sitting on the throne and I am heavily constipated. Excuse me for the use of words!

My current read is The Runaway Jury by John Grisham. I enjoy reading the book and I must say, I am making "going to the toilet" as an excuse just so I can read a few chapters in peace. It's mostly about the proceedings of a trial against the giant tobacco companies and although it is fictional, I just can't help but picture teenagers hooked on cigarettes and how they tried their best to quit through residential rehab. If the so-called "experts" in the field of tobacco research were correct, I wouldn't even go near someone who smokes because I will be inhaling more of the harmful substances that the cigarettes contain. But the trial is being manipulated by one jury member and the defense is being directed by a man who is so cunning and vicious that he would do whatever it takes just to win the trial.

I am not yet done reading the whole book but from the looks of it, it looks like the defense is winning. But I have yet to read the ending... Whether I am wrong or not at my conclusion, I will still have to find out.
