How to Give Your Shop a Unique, Eclectic Feel

For a shop that offers more unique items, you need a store-front that offers that same look and feel. If your small business consists of boring walls and uninteresting décor, you may need to give your little shop some personality. Don’t let your store bore your patrons and instead try these tips to introduce some eclectic style.

Go Custom
If you are looking to embrace the extraordinary in your shop’s style, you need anything but ordinary. Choose something that reflects the vibe of your shop with custom furniture finishing San Antonio TX and fun features. Don’t let the traditional and full hold you back and embrace something a bit more fun and visually intriguing.

Don’t Be Afraid of Color
If you want to go eclectic with your look, don’t be afraid of smart but bold use of color. Pick a focal color for your space and stick to that; however, make a big statement with a loud color and use it to tie the whole room together.

Be Intentional
When many people think eclectic, they imagine a hodgepodge of disarray; however, eclectic style is anything but random. Everything from your color choice to the furniture to the wares that you sell needs to be curated with care. While you will mix and match when fully embracing this style, you must be intentional with your choice to have a cohesive and clean end result.

Understanding the Style
Many people find themselves confused or unclear when it comes to eclectic design. Before you venture off on your visionary venture, make sure that you take some time to understand what eclectic style entails. This can help you avoid a décor disaster and instead have a shop that will speak for itself as soon as guests enter.

For an extraordinary shop and shop owner, you need an extraordinary style. If you want your shop to have a true personality that is all its own, go eclectic and embrace this aesthetic from top to bottom.

Finally A Kitchen!

I have always wanted to live in a house with a kitchen that I personally "designed" and decided on. By design, I mean the possibility to choose the design, color, layout, something that I can call a kitchen of my own. There is a sense of ownership when you are involved in planning the kitchen, from the measurements, to the layout, and the choosing the color and built-appliances.

The size of our present kitchen is fixed so I can't have a large kitchen or an island kitchen, but hey, who says everything should be perfect? What's important is that one is able to maximize and optimize what one presently has. :)

I wanted a kitchen that has lots of storage space and easy to clean. The one we got has lots of drawers and shelves a glossy finish so it is easier to wipe off dirt and grime. The cooking hob is also just big enough to cook 4 different pots or pans at a time. There's also a built-in oven for baking and / or roasting and microwave to heat up food pronto! There is also a dishwasher - helps me save a lot on water consumption and time! The built-in fridge unfortunately doesn't have a freezer so I can't stock on frozen goods [no ice cream! :(] and the one I have in our basement is not functioning. But anyway, as I said, one cannot have anything.

We got the kitchen at a very low price, so there's no complaining about the price since it came from Nolte Küchen, a very reputable kitchen company based here in Germany. But anyway, I am happy with the way it looks, with the functionality and how I am able to cook faster and more efficiently. That's what counts the most.

Customizing the Look for Your Kitchen

When you remodel your kitchen, you may not want to use fixtures that are mass produced and sold at big box stores and home improvement retailers. You may end up with a kitchen that looks like everyone else's if you choose this option.

Instead, when you want a totally unique kitchen that is unlike any other found in the neighborhood, you might want to custom order important fixtures like the cabinets and counters.  You can find out what your options are for custom ordered cabinetry, flooring, and granite countertops in Bradenton FL by going online today.

Checking Out Your Color Options
Materials like granite are typically available in an assortment of colors.  You can find it in slate gray, glossy black, and pearl white.  You can also find it in patterns that include flecks of different colors that add to its beauty and dimension.

You may not even realize how many options you have for this material until you visit the company's website.  When you want to get a better idea of what colors you can choose, you can click on the client gallery link at the top of the page.  It will take you to photos that show you what the materials look like, in what colors they are available, and what the finished result may appear like in your own kitchen.

By looking at the pictures, you can select a look for your house that you can take pride in and be happy with now and in the years to come.  You may decide that the material is a worthwhile investment that will give you a good return on your money.

Testimonials
If you are not someone who trusts your own gut instinct, you could be convinced that you made a good decision by reading the testimonials of clients who have used the service.  You can read about how happy they were with the work done in their homes.  Their reviews may convince you that you are making a good choice by customizing your cabinets and cupboards rather than buying mass produced items.

Handmade Birthday Party Invitation Cards

My little girl is turning 8 soon and she is so excited about it! So last Wednesday, for our "Basteltag" or Crafts Day we started making her birthday party invitation cards. We decided on the slider card because while watching You Tube videos on how to make them, it was very interesting and challenging on my first since it's my first time making one.

Our materials. :)
Gathering up our materials made of glitter board paper, colored paper, gift wrapper, 3D stickers in various motifs, double sided adhesives, scissors, puncher, ribbon band, self-adhesive velvet border, sandwich plastic bag, and our creative and free imagination, we came up with something that is quite elegant and cute at the same time.

The invitation details were printed on colored paper using a color printer. The little girl wrote the names of her friends on each card and also her name to make it more personalized.

We made 10 invitation cards for her girl friends.
The inside of the cards have different paper colors. We have light blue, rose and pink. The white ribbon band is used to help pull or slide out the two cards that contain the details of the party. I am really glad we did this together. She was very happy about it and can't wait to hand them out to her friends next week. I also think they are cool and cute. How about you, do you like it? Want to know how to make one for a special occassion? I can show you how or I can make one for you. Just comment away!

Samantha's Big Birthday Adventure

It has been almost 3 weeks since my little girl's 5th birthday celebration. I know it is a bit too late for a birthday post but I am writing this post anyway. I guess the lack of things to do has made me too lazy to blog lately... And I was complaining a few weeks ago that I had so many things to do! Perhaps it is because that they got completed at the same time and now I am left a bit restless it's making me confused and well, lazy. Oh darn!

But anyway, my little girl had a Dora-themed birthday party. I was expecting that my little girl would want a princess-themed party but because she chose a dora-themed cake, we had to plan around this theme. I searched through the net for some Dora-inspired invites and chose a design I found on tinyprints, edited it on Photoshop and voila! A nice birthday invite for the little girl.

The birthday invite and the birthday tarp...

I decided to hold the party at my sister's place and my brother's friend transformed the terrace into a wonderful party area. We rented some tables and chairs and decided to have the food catered so we would not to labor over the cooking . I added some DIY projects to add a little personality to the setup, with some ideas I got on the Internet like the banner at the cake table and the flowers in a bowl. I also had two tarpaulins printed, one a Dora-themed tarp and the other of my daughter's most recent photos. We also hired a party host for the games and balloon twisting for a more enjoyable evening for the kids. My hubby's cousin also volunteered to do face-painting for the children but not everyone got their face painted because they got so engrossed in the games.

Some birthday preparations...

The birthday girl with her cake... all ready for her party!

(R) Getting her face painted with a butterfly design. (L) Enjoying the food with her cousins.

It was overall a simple but fun party and my little girl enjoyed it a lot, celebrating her fifth birthday with her cousins and relatives from both sides of the family. The one person we missed on her big day was her daddy, who had to go back to Germany for work. But they talked on Skype and wished his little a very happy and enjoyable birthday.

Three generations... Mama, Nichole, Samantha, Me

We love you Samantha! May you have always be blessed with good health and surrounded with love and laughter. Mommy and Daddy are always here for you. We love you so much!

Say It With Car Magnets

You have a white car. You have a business and is always on the go. You want to place an advertisement on your car but is very reluctant to have the ad painted directly on it because the ad will only be for the time being. The  best way to go? With car magnets, of course! You could just imagine the endless possibilities these little but very powerful wonders could do!

An effective marketing tool. Placing an ad with your business name, website address, contact number and even a short catch phrase on vehicles is a very effective form of marketing tool. This is because most people these days are visual. If they see something that is eye-catching, chances are they would check it out. And in this modern world, where there is a very competitive market, an attractive and customized ad design is just as important as the actual service rendered by the business itself. I guess what makes vehicle ads appealing is that it is dynamic and flexible.

Endless possibilities. Car magnets need not be limited to business ads only. You could design it and stick it on your car according to your present need. It can be used as a political ad during the election period. Or as a welcome banner to important persons. It can even be stuck to wedding cars with a message bearing "Just Married". It will give a modern touch to it... You can be creative. There's even reflective ones to make the sign visible even at night, which is very helpful for law-enforcement and security vehicles.
