There's a new blog in town and it's called Cups and Lowercase. It still very new and fresh off the pot. Embrace Life

I just love blogs with green as their main blog color. I just find them cool and very refreshing to the eyes. No wonder my current blog layout also has green as the main color. But of course, I do not just love a blog because it's green... I also love a blog because of it's contents and it's catchy title. I love to read personal blogs and those that are family-oriented.

Have you ever come across the blog Embrace Life? Just the title itself would hint you that this blog is all about living life to the fullest, in all its wholesomeness and grandeur and challenges. I know the blogger by the pen name nuts but if you look closely at her blog URL, you'll find her name in it. I always enjoy reading her TCP posts, her stories about her family, her thoughts and philosophy in life. I love the author's writing style as if she were relating a story... I find it easy to understand and I can tell how passionate she is about her family. In this blog Mommy Nuts chronicles her day... from the funny to interesting to happy to sometimes not so happy events. Her food meme entries are also very delicious-looking you'd wish you were a member of the family so that you could have a helping of the dishes she features.

The blog is a little over a year old and since then, it has enjoyed a PR3, 84 followers and growing... and of course paid post opportunities. I like the simple green template with two columns. The sidebars are very organized too and I find it easy to navigate. There are also links to various pages in her blog including the About page. I know Mommy Nuts is a busy SAHM because she haven't got around to filling the about page yet. I hope she gets to write something in it soon!

The Blogger Hub

I love to tweak my blog every now and then. I like to do it myself because I cannot afford to hire the services of fabulous web page designers like my Marce Kaye. I am not knowledgeable about html codes either so that I had to do my research first, do trial and error with my blog template and search for free tutorials online. I tell you it was a lot of hard work but very worth my while nonetheless.

I am glad that there are now lots of blogs dedicated to helping other bloggers create their own home in the blogniverse by customizing their blog layouts. I am referring to one blog in particular: The Blogger Hub, which is a blog written by a woman and is essentially "a blog dedicated to tech talk, blogging basics, toots on how to customize and do whatever with your blog or site". Sounds too good to be true but you better believe it. I would recommend this site to anyone who is just starting out with blogging and is trying to create that one look that is distinguishly his/hers or those who have been blogging and got tired of their generic blog layout. The blog entries are very easy to understand... The author made sure that everything is presented in a very simple manner as possible. I like the author's writing style because it feels like she is just talking to me while we are peering over the computer monitor. One can find various topics featured here: techie gadgets, website design, contests, blogging, tips and tricks.

I really enjoyed my first visit to this blog. The header is just very welcoming and will indeed make you feel as if you are entering a hub where you can find everything that you need to know about blogging. This blog is published on Blogger and has a three-column layout with just the right amount of gadgets.

Who says daddies cannot blog? I know a number of them who do. Found most of them through Entrecard and of course Adgitize. I am just very grateful that there are great minds who thought about creating beneficial communities and advertising strategies so that it becomes easier to network with other blogger parents.

It is through Entrecard and a contest when the blog Yashiro really caught my attention. If you have been a regular here, you would know that I ran an ad for this blog for a month as a prize last year. I really admire this daddy blogger who is not afraid to blog and brag about his family especially his children. I just warm at the thought that he is very happy with the way things are going with their lives. I also admire his wisdom when it comes to parenting, after all, I oftentimes hear parenting advice from fellow moms. Yashiro is the name of this daddy blogger and his blog is all about life, parenting and kids. One can read lots of very helpful and practical tips parenting here. I like it that the author features Sunday Service Message, a clear indication that he values his family's spirituality. There is also Daddy Day Care in which the author blogs about the multifarious activities that he and his kids did. The author writes in an easy and simple manner... No beating around the bush. I think that this blog aims to inspire and help other parents become better parents while being cool about it. A good read for daddy-wannabes and new parents.

Published on Blogger platform, this three-column template has a gray background, with the blog entries done in simple Verdana font for an easier read. The sidebars contain a wealth of resources too: from online money making programs and sites, ads, blog archive and blog labels among others.

I have always enjoyed blog hopping because I get to meet lots of real, ordinary people living ordinary lives who blog about their random thoughts and interests in life. Some sites I just drop and go. Some leave me feeling inspired or happy or touched so that I linger for a while, leave my two cents and shamelessly request for a link exchange. LOL!

One of those blogs that I love to visit is Bambie's My Thoughts, My Heart, My Turf. As the blog title implies, this personal blog is all about Bambie's life: things that interest her, her thoughts on various events, her family, her little adventures in life and other stuff that she fondly calls "whatchamacallits". I find Bambie to be a very sweet person (especially to her nephew), who knows what and when to withhold and to share. She allows her readers to take a peek into her life but she also values her privacy. She is also one of my Couchers and I always look forward to reading her movies. She also is working from home and you can find lots of money making opportunities and helpful tips featured in her blog too. I love Bambie's no nonsense style of writing. Her frankness and honesty are reflected in her blog entries too.

One will know upfront that this blog is owned by a woman. The pink dotted paper for the background is very appealing. The lavender text color against the pale blue text background is surprisingly very easy to read too! The three column template features various forms of advertising. There are also many affiliate programs to be found on both sidebars so that if you want to earn money from your blog, you are welcome to check them out.

And oh, Bambie is cooking up her very first ever Blogversary Contest and will launch it on March 15th. Beng's Entertainment Spree

You could never really expect any blog posts from me that concerns the entertainment world, except when they are about movies. I just don't know how to pull writing one off. I guess you could say that I am not really into these kind of stuff. I don't even watch TV programs of this nature. Perhaps if I have TFC? Hmmm.... Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the entertainment business. I even wish I were more up-to-date because that's what most people talk about in a conversation: the latest trends in fashion, Hollywood biggies, hits that made it to the charts.

I am glad there is Beng's Entertainment Spree. It is my source of the latest entertainment news both from the Philippines and the international scene. But this blog is not just about celebrities and their lifestyles. It is also about Beng's idea of entertainment and fun: movies with the family, Filipino humor, meeting local celebrities, even politics. It is through this blog that I learned the story about the latest on Kris Aquino's marriage, that Rica Peralejo just got married, the there is a new Shrek movie that will soon hit the big screen. I know these stuff are not unknown to you... so I must be living in a hermit hole. LOL!

The blog is published on Blogger and has a three-column template. The background color, which is a shade of pale violet red matches the header. There are ads that can be found so that one can hint that this blog is monetized. I find the blog entry title font color to be very attractive and very readable. The text color though could use another color than black because I sometimes find the text difficult to read. Perhaps a complimentary color for pale violet red or white text color will do the trick? Just a suggestion for Ms. Beng.... Despite this, I still enjoy visiting this site. What I have missed I can always look up in the archives.

A Woman Remembers

Life is filled with precious moments. It is filled with those grand, one-of-a-kind moments that makes us feel that we have done really something extraordinary to be given such a shining moment. It is filled with simple moments that when shared with our loved ones become extra special. All these moments are worth keeping for when we grow old, they become a treasury of stories and anecdotes to be told to our children and grandchildren.

All of us have a story to tell. How we relate our story and the reason behind that story is the one thing that separates our story from the rest. If there is one blog that I find really interesting because of the glamor and the fabulous things that the author gets to experience, that would have to be A Woman Remembers, written by Cza. In this blog, she writes down the many different experiences that she has in life that are worth publishing and remembering: the previous First Lady's 80th Birthday, appearing in a magazine spread, being an interviewed in a talk-show on Philippine television, running for a cause, winning lots of freebies, contests and giveaways, being featured in a magazine and a whole lot more. What I like about the author is that she does not brag about all these wonderful experiences so that it would leave you feeling envious afterwards. Rather, she writes in a calm and serene manner that would leave you feeling happy for her and proud that she was among those in the spotlight. Browsing through her blog, I can tell that she has this winning streak for she has been winning from one contest after another, be it online or offline. What a lucky woman she is! Perhaps she could rub some of her lucky pixie dust on me? :D

I love the blog's yellow template. Although the blog layout reminds me of the Mellow Yellow Monday meme, the template seems to have stuck with the blog. The yellow butterfly landing on a flower is a picture of beauty and serenity that is worth remembering. The elements/gadgets found on the sidebars of this three-column template all contribute to give the blog it's personality. And while you bask yourself in the glorious stories of Cza's life, you can also find lots of earning money online links on her sidebar. It's like hitting two birds with one stone.

I must admit that when I started blogging, I had an agenda in mind. That after building it up to gain traffic, link exchange with other blogs and directories, and earn a page rank, I would monetize it. Being a stay-at-home Mom has its perks. While I do not get to contribute to the family economically, I get to witness my little one grow, be online for hours on end, blog about the things I love, meet new friends online and earn some on the sides. It was a challenge for me at first because I was used to an 8-hour, sometimes 12-hour job back in the Philippines. But then I saw the many advantages that I eventually embraced my new role.

Many would think that being a SAHM or a WAHM for that matter is an easy task. Well, they are actually mistaken. Many of us SAHMs just make it sound or look easy because we are able to do a balancing act and manage our time well. One blog that shows this balancing act is that of Mommy Rubz's Pinay Mommy Online. While she juggles her time between diaper changes, doing the household chores, sending the kids to school, and taking care of hubby too, she still has time to blog and maintain, like 15 sites?! Could you believe that? I wonder how she did it. If Marce Peh whom I already consider as a supermom has 8, this SAHM has 15! Wow!

This blog is Mommy Rubz' personal blog where she gets to share her emotional ramblings, parenting tips, activities with her family, and tips on how to earn money online and blogging among others. I love reading through her online finds because I find them interesting, unique and cool. The tutorials are a must see too, especially if you are just starting to monetize your blog and want to know everything about paypal! I like the author's writing style because she is able to use keywords smoothly and incorporate them into her personal posts so that it would sound er look er read very natural.

The blog is published on WordPress and has a three-column layout. I find the template very easy to navigate and very easy on the eyes. If you want to know more about the author, the ABOUT page is readily visible on the navigation menu tab. The text and title font types used are very easy to read against the white background.

It's Not Always About Me...

When you blog, what do you blog about? Do you blog about personal stuff? Do you blog about how to make money online? Is you blog aimed at giving parenting tips? Do you blog to showcase your photos? Do you blog about products for the home and garden? Or do you blog on just about anything under the sun? Whatever it is you blog about, chances are you have in one way of another blogged about yourself.

I have come across lots of personal blogs. Among them is It's Not Always About Me... which I first encountered through Adgitize. I find the badge or button attractive so that I just click on the ad each time I encounter it. The site only takes a few seconds to load so that one doesn't get tired of waiting and one is welcomed with a pink background with the header that says: It's Not Always About Me, but most of the time it is. Quite catchy eh?

The author hides by the name Yuuki.. which is Japanese for "snow" and judging from the pen name, I can say that the author loves Japanese stuff like manga and anime. One can find lots of quotes in this blog. And lots of personal stories about the author's daily comings and goings. While browsing, I found out the author is an expat in Dubai, loves to watch TV series and Korean drama, loves to shop (who doesn't), and loves to spend her free time surfing the internet. I enjoy reading her entries because she writes very spontaneously.

If you are up for a "how was your day?" read, this blog is it. I just wish the Labels/Categories widget is available at the sidebars so that I can browse easier.

Simple Pero Rock

I am not fair-skinned so that I try to stay away from colors that will make me look darker and just stick to the simple, light and plain. Surprisingly though, I always feel great when I see photos of me wearing red (shirt) because they always come out really nice and me looking fresh and young. Perhaps the color red suits me just fine? Hmmm... I guess I will have to experiment more on that.

Now why am I talking about clothes? This is because I always believe that the way a person dresses shows how he/she lives life. That their choice of clothes somehow shows what they are feeling. And that wearing simple things does not necessarily mean one is uncool. But I guess this is very off topic as my aim is to review a blog. So...

Oftentimes, one would hear the words "Simple Pero Rock" to emphasize that life in its simplicity is still great! There's a personal blog that shows exact that and it is authored by Marose or better known in the internet as redamethyst. The pen name is interesting enough because as we all know, amethyst has a lavender/purple color. Could it be that this person is one of a kind? Of course she is! She is a rare gem... all of us are! Redamethyst writes about lessons in life, reviews, personal entries about herself and her son, and entertainment among others. Recently, she is on a blog review craze (just like me) so that you will have to browse the archives for more of her personal posts. The author is a working mom and hopes to become a WAHM someday so that you will also find online earning resources in this blog. I like the author's writing style. Her words are simple and sincere and you could tell that she doesn't have any qualms in the world. I love that in a person. I guess we would click just fine. :D

The blog's main color is red so that it is implied that the author loves the color red. The header shows a woman holding (or playing) an electric guitar... The header alone says it all. I love the way the sidebar elements are arranged, as if there is a hierarchy. The archives and labels are in place and there are ads too to indicate that the blog is monetized.

Crossroads: Where Ideas Meet

I always enjoy blogs that feature beautiful and breathtaking local spots where one can unwind, relax and eat good food. Why? Because I love to travel and among my dream is to travel and visit the entire Philippines' 7107 islands. I know that is a lot to handle and would entails lots of moolah but who knows? One of my targets is Cebu City. While I have already visited Cebu City a number of times, I still wasn't able to explore it in its entirety.

I am so glad to have come across the blog Crossroads: Where Ideas Meet, a blog authored by another male blogger (wheeee!!!) who hides under the pen name markg87. While the blog is essentially a mixed bag of ideas, with blog entries about places, people, events, movies, entertainment and life, I find it very informative. I find the reviews of some of Cebu's most happening places, and some great and unique locations very interesting and note-worthy. I am glad that the author attached a handful of photos to the featured restaurant or location as it emphasized what it can offer. I am also updated with the latest talent search craze in the Philippines, the one that many have been raving about: the Pilipinas Got Talent. There's more that this blog offers: the latest episode of Naruto Shippuuden, Manny Pacquiao updates, flash animation and webdesign, and the latest in technology to name a few.

The blog's template is simple enough, with its white and light cyan background. The About and Contact pages can readily be found on the navigation menu just below the header. It has a three-column layout with sidebars containing ads, subscription to links, a list of categories and calendar. While it is very easy to navigate and very easy on the eyes, I think the header could use some tweaking to really depict what the beautiful title suggests: Crossroads.

Where The Moon Shines

Do you do Adgitize? Because I do... and I find myself drawn to clicking on the ads who are sponsors of this contest. Hehe! But wait, contest or not, I always find myself drawn to the ad of Verabear. I find it very appealing and it always beckons me to click. The name alone has a nice ring to it. It sounds like I am about to visit someone so dear. And meet her I did. Through the blog of course.

Surprisingly, the blog title is called Where The Moon Shines and Verabear is the author's pen name. True enough, it is a monicker that she derived from an endearment term that the author's grandfather used to call her. Cute eh? I love what the author shares in this personal blog of hers. I find very interesting and informative stuff each time I visit. Are you familiar with the 5S System? This one you better read... It is not only for big companies. It should also be a way of life.

This blog supports various causes for the children, the poor and the environment too. I enjoyed her I love UNICEF entry and I have been planning to have an I (heart) UNICEF photo shoot with my little one little real soon. There's also Free Rice, Help Children and the 350 Challenge. Browse around this site and you will see that she blogs about a number of causes and even promotes its products like her 2010 Planner Giveaway way back in December 2009.

There's lots of online money earning resources to be found on this site too so that if you ever need of a legitimate one, you can check the ones featured here.

The blog is published on WordPress platform and has a very simple three column layout. The dark background made it attractive. I love that the author uses a photo to illustrate a point or to accompany it with the post so that it never looks monotonous. The sidebars contain the archives and categories among others and the navigation menu just below the header will lead you to various important links.

Jena Isle's Random Thoughts

I have made a review for one of Jena Isle's blogs once but it was for Gewgaw Writings. After that review, she must have invited me to be a guest blogger at her blog but I unfortunately, wasn't able to give her my prompt reply. That is very bad of me as a blogger. I guess I must have forgotten all about it and thought it would be too late to send a reply today. So anyway, this time, I will be reviewing another blog of hers, the Jena Isle's Random Thoughts blog.

As always, Jena writes in that creative and profound way of hers that always leaves me feeling inadequate as a writer. In this blog, because it is her random thoughts, you can find various entries aside from her poems and short stories, which are very informative. I enjoyed reading her guide on how to buy PC systems for it helps readers to make informed choices. She also raised this question in one of her posts: Should husbands help with the household chores? If you have a strong opinion on this topic, better click here and leave her a comment. One will also find another novel in the making which is entitled Umma Ayam Sinsana (Where Are You Now). Now if you are particularly interested to learn more about Filipino indigenous culture, this one will definitely enlighten you. One may also find guest bloggers in this site every now and then.

The blog layout is simple enough and very easy to navigate. It is three column and has a white background. There's a book that she is promoting and selling on the sidebar. It's an inspirational book for bloggers so that if you want to be successful in blogging, you might be interested in grabbing a copy.

Clarisse After Dark

Have had your fill of coffee? Then why not join Clarisse for a nightcap? There are some things in life that are just "toxic" and needs to be vented out in one way or another. There are some things in life that you need to just take freely out in the open, without thought, to be just carefree. And sometimes, you just need to be silent to be heard.

I think this is what Clarisse After Dark is all about. The author though wants to give this blog a new name: Call Me Claire, Just Claire. Perhaps the latter is more fitting as it indeed discusses more relaxed, out of the blue topics where the author can just simply be herself. No holds barred. No reservations. Just free wheeling. Here one can get a glimpse of the author's musical side too... Would you believe that she wants to become a jack of all musical trades? Let us all wish her luck.

I love reading this blog's entries because they engage me, the reader. It is like Clarisse er Claire is having a conversation with me and it relaxes me in a way. And while the layout could use some changes especially the dark olive green background of the text body, the contents are to my taste nonetheless.

Seriously, if you have a full-time job and wifey duties to attend to, tweaking a blog is the least of your worries. So, ready for some nightcap? Just Call Claire.

Coffee, Anyone?

I am a confessed coffee junkie so that if you would invite me for coffee, I would readily say YES! And so it goes without saying the Clarisse's invitation for coffee is gladly accepted.

Coffee, Anyone? is a personal blog authored by Clarisse and is published on Bravejournal. It shows a more personal side of her as one gets to discover here her interests in life through her sketches, her love for reading and her utter randomness. This blog is sort of her daily digest and it somehow wraps up how her life goes juggling between being a wife and as a career woman. There was a significant drop in the frequency of her posts in 2009 though due to what she loves to call "my major catastrophic burnout of 2009". I am glad though that she is back on her toes and starting to write down her personal thoughts again... and this time her thought on the road to recovery.

I just love the author's creativity when she "baptized" the elements in her sidebar with just about anything related to coffee and coffee making: like percolator for hot stuff, open bar/cocktails for friends beyond bravejournal walls, coffee trade for moneymaking resources, brewery for her other main blogs, coffee grinds for other blogs authored by her, and coffee mills for some online exercises for the brain. The layout does need some tweaking though, but I guess that is the least of the author's priorities.

I have always enjoyed reading other peoples' journeys. I must admit that I tend to hold back when it comes to sharing about my personal life online. And I have so much respect and awe for those who are brave enough to share their joys and pains, and be able to write them down in such a profound manner.

This feeling of awe hasn't left me when I came across Wonder Wifey for the first time. This blog is written by Clarisse, a woman who has come to terms with her decisions in life and is a bundle of contradictions. I love the author's writing style, witty and funny if needed be and serious on different occasions too. I find the posts very informative and gives a glimpse of what the author is like, and the conclusion that indeed she is a Wonder Wifey in her own right. If you are a chocolate lover, her entry on how to make a chocolate mug cake in just 5 minutes is a must see! One can also find product reviews, consumer items, household tips, and recipes here so that if you needed something reviewed, Clarisse can surely pull it off.

The blog's template reminds me of coffee breaks where one gets to skim over one's planner, take down some notes and check if all things are in order while having a cup of coffee, not at the cafeteria but at the dining table at home. The three column layout depicts a diary or planner where the left leaf shows the blog entries and the right leaf shows the different gadgets that are meant to make navigation easier and to provide a wealth of links and information as well.

Wonder Wifey is one of those blogs that I would highly recommend. If you want some good reading, this is it.

Heart Random

I have come across the name Sherry and her multitude number of blogs on various occasions, mostly in blog contests. So it got me really all curious and thought to myself, "how is she able to join all these contests?" She must be some sort of a superwoman. Check out her blogs and one is sure to find a treasure for a blog contest or giveaway there.

But of course, a blogger has to have a place where she can write down all the random thoughts that comes into her head... thus Heart Random. Here, Sherry writes about anything that she fancies and loves doing: from jewelry and fashion trends, to health and beauty, about Malaysia, and more personal stuff. This is a personal blog that chronicles the author's interests and loves.

The blog is written in WordPress platform and I love the simplicity of the layout. It's a two column layout with a footer where more elements can be found. I love the white background and the blue title background color that separates one post from another. I also like the font type used and also the dark blue pane for the most recent post because it highlights it in a way. To some it might look boring and dull but I guess the challenge to the author should be to add color to the posts by including a snapshot or two.

I have always loved weddings. Ar some point in my life, I have been an event organizer myself although it was not a really grand one. Wedding preparations always excite me. It's a good thing though that there are lots of wedding preparation resources available in the internet today.. It makes preparations a little easier to handle.

It's my first time to visit Here Comes The Bride and the moment I entered this rose garden, I never wanted to leave. The header says: "Real life weddings. Real life inspirations." I guess this is where the appeal of the blog comes from. While offering various tips and advice in preparing for a wedding based on the author's wedding preparations experiences and from her clients as well because she is an event coordinator, there are lots of real life weddings featured in this blog that soon to be brides can draw inspiration from. Photos of real life weddings and prenups are very wonderful and includes the name of the photographer and a link to their website so that if you are looking for Photography suppliers, you can easily contact them. I really find the site very helpful because all the elements of a wedding preparation can be found here down to the smallest details of your table centerpieces and ring pillow.

I also love the blog's color of dark pink rose and chocolate brown. I guess this is a popular wedding motif these days. The blog has a two column-layout with the sidebar on the right and contains ads and blog sponsors, the author's profile, archives and labels among others.

Glitter Page

Whenever I blog hop, the first thing that catches my attention is the blog's layout. Most of the time, I get drawn to blogs that have a meaningful header, an attractive background or a very simple yet catchy blog title. These are what makes me stay and explore the blog a little bit more.

It is no wonder that the blog Glitter Page caught my attention. It has got an unusual title and one would think that it would look all glittery and brilliant. It did somehow, with the blog's pink background with floral prints and tiny shiny twinkling-like thingy. I love how the elements in the two sidebars are organized. I can easily find the labels and the blog's archives plus a link to the About page.

Reading some of the blog posts have given me a glimpse of what the author is like. She obviously loves the color pink, that we already know. I find her posts about blogging very savvy and very informative too. The blogging tutorials are also very helpful. And of course, there are the product reviews for products that she actually uses so that I know that she is honest when she gives her verdict about the product. It is also worth mentioning that this site is earning hundreds of dollars through Adsense. How? Now, that my dears, is something that will surely interest you.
