Photo Hunt: Aftermath

This is what's left of the sukiyaki which I posted yesterday. Looks like there's not much left of it except for some onion, meat slices and veggies. We were already too full by the time we finished that we can no longer take another bite. It was that good!

Families Are Forever!

Just the three of us! Meet the Pera Family: Me, Sam, Vincent.

I know that it is quite late for Photo Hunt! But I am posting this anyway. This is my very beautiful family. There is just the three of us for now but who knows? We could grow into a big family in the future. Hubby Vincent is a very supportive and loving father. He knows how to take care of Sam when I go to work on weekends. They really have grown close because of the time that they have together and I am very happy about that. The only thing that he doesn't know yet is giving Sam a bath! He is afraid that he might drop Sam or hurt her while she is taking a bath and he just won't take any chances. Then there is Sam, our bundle of joy. We just can't get enough of her! She is pure innocence and love and peace and happiness! We just love her so much! Even the Japanese love her too. They envy her eyes and her long and curly eyelashes and her behaved attitude when we go out! And of course, there is good old me... I am just so happy to have them in my life it matters not if I am not practicing my profession or if I am a full time housewife and mommy! I love doing what I do... This lifestyle is the best there is! :D

And then there were 8 (minus 1)! My other sister was not able to come home for the BIG day! Too bad...

This is my side of the family. Hubby's is equally large!

Families are not just those whom you were born to and grew up with. We also consider family those people who are close to us and have contributed to our being in one way or another. For each one of us, there is a family that we can call our own... where we belong and are accepted for who we are including our weaknesses and imperfections.

This is our SICO family - the people who brought us together and witnessed our journey.

These are my hubby's friends and classmates in college who eventually became
my close friends when he had to leave for Japan for his undergraduate studies.

Photo Hunt: View

View from up there. Canibad Beach in the Island Garden City of Samal, Mindanao, Philippines.

This is the unspoiled Canibad beach. Hidden behind coconut trees, this secluded beach in the Island Garden City of Samal is a beauty to behold. To get there, we had to make a descent down a very small trail with slippery slopes. The walk was worth it once you behold the breathtaking view of the Davao Gulf and the vast ocean beyond. Truly, this photo did not fully capture that moment of awe and wonder but I can't help taking one. I just had to take pictures since these are the only ones I can bring back home with me. And of course, there are the good memories and the great bonding I had with my cousins before I flew here in Japan.

We went to Tokyo Disneyland about four months ago and was able to capture the grandeur of Disney Castle while on board Mark Twain's Boat. Disney Castle looked very small here... and this would give you an idea how huge Tokyo Disneyland is. One day just isn't enough to enjoy all the rides and the sights. I would love to share with you our adventures in Disneyland... but I guess that is another story.

Photo Hunt: Road

It was Spring of 2008 when we went on a road trip to Yamanashi Ken, the home of Mt. Fuji and the famous four lakes. We stopped by one of the camp sites for some refreshments and my hubby took this photo of me by the road side. The road was lined with sakura trees (Japanese cherry blossoms) and it was almost the end of spring so that there wasn't much sakura blossoms left. Still, it was a beauty to behold.

Thought of posting these wild animals from the different forests of the globe. But they are not so wild now... because they are caged. They must miss their natural habitat.
