Yellow Monday: World Motor Sport 2009

Hubby went to the World Motor Sport 2009 Exhibition in Frankfurt last Friday along with his colleagues. It was one of those annual events and the place was packed with cars and spectators. Exhibitors included all the big names like Maserati, Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Lamborghini, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Toyota, Renault.

Different car models were on exhibit, of course, from hybrid cars, hydrogen-fueled cars, futuristic cars, electric cars, race cars, even some the old models. It was indeed a feast for the eyes especially if you are a car fanatic. Below are the yellow that I got from his photos.

Yellow Monday: Europa Park

This is Europa Park in Rust, Germany. If you want to experience Europe in one day, this is the place for you. It features the different European countries and highlights its distinct architecture and food, and of course, the great rides which are based on that country's culture or legends.

It is a fun place to be and of course, has lots of yellows in it, especially in SPAIN and in the Kiddie Wonderland.

The festive and yellow Spanish arcade.

The yellow Panorama bahn that takes you to different countries and affords a view of the entire park.

You can't miss this giant mushroom at the kiddie land.

Yellow Monday: Popsicle

My little girl was feeling cranky and uneasy one hot summer day. I was in a frantic search for something that will calm her down. She wasn't hungry. She already had her bath and a bottle of warm milk. And she just had her nap too! But she was still cranky. Guess what calmed her down? The orange popsicle did it! She just loved the orange popsicle while watching Spongebob, who incidentally is also YELLOW!

Hope everyone has a cool week!

Yellow Monday: The Landshuter Hochzeit

The town's medieval square with medieval and baroque-style buildings lined on both ends

This Yellow Monday, let us go to Landshut, a town in the State of Bavaria, Germany where we journey back to the Middle Ages to celebrate the lavish wedding parade that took place there hundreds of years ago, in 1475 to be exact. The Landshuter Hochzeit is a festival that happens only every 4th summer, the next one will be in 2013. It was indeed a journey back in time, with people dressed in their best Middle Aged attire to re-enact the wedding feast of Georg, son of Duke Ludwig the Rich and Polish Princess Jadwiga.

The wedding parade. It was colorful and of course, filled with YELLOW!

Yellow Monday: Tokyo Disneyland

These photos were taken last year in Tokyo Disneyland. It was a fun-filled day spent with family, and it was extra special because it was also the 25th Anniversary celebration of the theme park. Browsing my photo folder just made me realize that there were lots of yellows worth sharing. Here are some of them:

Princess Belle of the Beauty and the Beast wore a YELLOW gown. And there were also many Japanese children in their Disney Princess costumes too, just like little Snow White here.

Princess Belle and the Beast (in his human form) during the Jubilation Parade.

These beautiful parade of lights are also a must-see! Look at all the golden yellow glow of the lit floats with your favorite Disney characters in it!

Mickey Mouse's house is also YELLOW! Can you see the long line of people? A visit at Tokyo Disneyland will not be complete without a photograph with him. So there, fall in line we did! It took us 2 hours just to get to him. LOL!

More YELLOWS here!

Yellow Monday: Stop and Smell The Roses

The Grönneranlage or Rose Garden in Lichtentaler Alley in Baden-Baden.

These yellow roses were just among the over 400 rose varieties that can be found at the rose garden, the Gönneranlage in Lichtentaler Allee in Baden-Baden, Germany. This rose garden was a gift of a coffee magnate to his wife. He must have thought, "Why bother with a bunch of roses when you could surprise your wife with a garden of 10,000?" Ain't that sweet?

There are lots more colors and rose blooms that can be found here. Pinks, reds, whites, orange, peach and lots more! Just imagine the sweet rose fragrance as you enter the garden especially in the spring and summer when all the roses are in full bloom!

Yellow Monday: Of Buses and Souvenirs

MellowYellowMondayBadge

Our trip to Vienna will not be complete without seeing the main sights at the city center, and what better way to do it than to go on a bus tour? Since we only had a few days to spare and we wanted to make the most of our time there and see all the important sights, the guided bus tour was our best option. And with the tour bus being HOP ON, HOP OFF it was easy to get off at the main attractions in the city and then get on again and continue on with the tour. And what do you know, this time, our tourbus was YELLOW!

Aside from the marvelous churches and glorious historical buildings and wonderful works of art that our eyes feasted on, souvenirs were always a treat! And the yellows in the shops made it all the more enticing to shop for a souvenir or two!

Just one of the many Tabak Souvenir shops scattered all over the city.

A yellow wooden duck that is ready to go home.

Pinocchio and other wonderful wooden creations.

Yellow Monday: Balcony Blooms

MellowYellowMondayBadge

I have been working on our balcony to make it feel more homey and did some gardening. I got my hands dirty and worked on it the three Saturdays ago. It was back breaking work I tell you but very much worth it! Below are some photos:

Our rectangle planters: it is designed such that water can be stored at the bottom so that the soil won't dry up but without drowning the roots.

The blooms are in season and are of different colors. They are now ready to be transfered to the planters. YELLOW will always be there, of course.

Now transfered to their individual planters.

The daisies in their assortment of colors. Yellows, purples and whites!

And of course, the YELLOW cluster of blooms!

And here is Hubby helping me out on my small project. :D

It is not much of a garden but I am proud of it!
